A celebration of music, movement, and the many people who make America what it is
Every year, the Fourth of July brings with it a familiar rhythm: sparklers, barbecues, and a soundtrack that’s usually heavy on classic rock and nostalgia. But for many of us, that soundtrack doesn’t reflect the full story. That’s why I created Red, White & Remixed — a playlist that reimagines Independence Day through the lens of dance, diversity, and joy.
This is not about rejecting tradition. It’s about expanding it. The energy of this set comes from honoring what’s familiar, remixing it with purpose, and making space for more voices at the party.

Why This Playlist Sounds Like Us
Familiar songs with new energy
You’ll hear tracks like American Pie, Party in the USA, Take Me Home, Country Roads, and Sweet Caroline, but not the way you’ve heard them before. These are extended mixes, house edits, and disco-flavored flips designed to keep the energy rising and the crowd moving.
The power of disco and house music
At its best, dance music is more than just a beat. Disco and house have always been about release, refuge, and connection—especially for the communities that have historically been excluded from mainstream celebrations. This playlist leans into that legacy with intention and joy.
Centered around unity and immigrant pride
In addition to the classics, this set includes songs that honor the people who have shaped this country in ways that often go unrecognized. Tracks like:
- Soy Yo (Sing 2 Mix) — a Colombian anthem about confidence and belonging
- Linda — Dominican and Spanish femme energy without apology
- Pa’lante — a powerful call from the Puerto Rican diaspora to keep going
- Final Form — a celebration of Black excellence and identity
These tracks aren’t just added for variety. They help reshape the story of what a “Fourth of July” party can sound like when it reflects real people.
Designed Like a Real DJ Set
This playlist is structured to take you on a journey. It opens with golden-hour disco and house grooves, builds toward crowd-pleasing remixed anthems, and crescendos just in time for the fireworks. The final stretch brings in global soul and late-night dance tracks that keep the mood high while slowing the tempo just enough to breathe.
If you turn on crossfade (6 to 8 seconds) in Spotify, the whole mix will feel seamless from start to finish.
